Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers

With just three years in stores under its belt, Simple Mills is leaving established competitors in the dust in terms of market share. The company is now the #1 fastest growing baking mix and cracker brand, #2 largest baking mix brand by dollars sold, #3 largest cracker brand by dollars sold in less than 9 months after launch. Wow.

Simple Mills product line has expanded in the last year to include not only baking mixes, but frosting and crackers as well.  Simple Mills’ line of food is:

  • ‘Real simple’ made with fewer ingredients and no fillers
  • Higher in protein and lower in sugar
  • gluten free, grain free, and soy free (the base of most mixes is almond flour)
  • Non-GMO certified

Simple Mills products are free of 6 of the Big 8 allergens. All products contain Tree Nuts (in the form of almonds and/or coconuts) and some contain Dairy (organic milk is used in the Farmhouse Cheddar cracker). All Simple Mills products comply with industry standards for allergen controls, which includes segregating allergens during ingredient storage and production, conducting full allergen cleans between production runs, and testing for allergens on manufacturing equipment before use.

I recently tried the new Almond Flour Crackers. These six crackers (flavors below) are made with a blend of almond flour, sunflower seeds and flax seeds.

  • Farmhouse Cheddar
  • Fine Ground Sea Salt
  • Rosemary & Sea Salt
  • Sun-dried tomato & Basil
  • Smoky BBQ Cheddar
  • Cracker Black Pepper

Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers have 3 grams of protein per serving and  20-50% less carbs than leading cracker brands. The flavors are intense but in a good way. My favorite was the Rosemary & Sea Salt.

I've been on a gluten free diet since January 2009. It's been an adventure, and a challenge at times. I love to go to new restaurants and try new foods, and being gluten free can make eating out difficult at times. But I will not let my dietary restrictions get in my way of finding new restaurants and products. These are my stories of being a young women in a big city, eating out and trying new foods, all while NOT eating gluten. Like I said, it's an adventure and you are welcome to come along... Please note that as I try to eat gluten free 100% of the time, my intolerance is not as severe as others so please use caution when dining at restaurants that are not certified gluten free.
